Back in 2001, we started a business. We didn’t have any money, but we did know quite a lot about technology.  It was immediately apparent to us we had been categorized by software vendors – we fitted into the startup / small business market. The abundance of low cost software packages for this market is overwhelming. If you need an accounting, CRM, Ecommerce or Inventory management there is an immense choice of point solutions. Curiously large corporate enterprise do not invest in point solutions, they buy one system that connects all of the parts of their business and the people that work in them.  Because of this SAP,  JD Edwards and Peoplesoft have become technology giants. Regardless of their size all businesses have similar characteristics, behaviours and needs, so it follows that all businesses need similar information systems. If corporates need ERP  then so do small businesses. The problem is small business ERP solutions are few in number and difficult to find. We know, we’ve looked.

Our one business became five separate businesses over 8 years, each business had different challenges, but each one needed an ERP system. This blog is here to help you find an affordable small business ERP that’s right for you, it reflects our experience and research into finding a solution for all of our different businesses. We hope that like us you don’t make the same mistakes..
